PLATFORMS

Have an idea that doesn’t fit into an off-the-shelf solution?

Creature Works creates interactive tools that make complex information easier to explore, present, manage, and share.

Some ideas need more than a website. They need a solution designed around specific information, audiences, and ways of working.

We bring together strategy, interface design, content, data, and development to create digital tools around a specific audience or organizational need. That might mean a searchable archive, an interactive exhibit, a presentation system, a kiosk experience, or something that has not been built before.

What we build

  • Custom Digital Platforms – Purpose-built tools designed around your organization, audience, and information.

  • Interactive Applications – Engaging digital experiences for sales, education, storytelling, and public access.

  • Searchable Archives – Accessible systems for preserving and exploring stories, records, photographs, and documents.

  • Touchscreen and Kiosk Experiences – Intuitive interactive presentations for museums, exhibits, events, and public spaces.

  • Sales and Presentation Tools – Custom applications that make complex products and ideas easier to demonstrate.

  • Content and Data Management – Practical administrative tools that help organizations maintain and expand their platforms.

  • UX/UI Design – User-centered interfaces that make specialized information easy to navigate, understand, and use.

Platforms in Action

Our platform work ranges from adaptable products available to organizations and communities to custom applications developed for specific purposes.

Find Your Veteran

Preserve individual stories of military service and make them accessible to generations of visitors.

Find Your Veteran is a searchable digital platform and interactive kiosk experience created for museums, historical societies, counties, and veteran-serving organizations. Easy-to-use administrative tools allow organizations to build and maintain their own collection of veteran stories, photographs, documents, and service information.

Interactive Sales Platform

Turn complex products and information into an engaging presentation experience.

Creature Works, in association with The Electric Studio, developed an interactive sales app for a global supplier of power-generation systems. Created for iPad and Windows, the application was used in customer presentations, at conventions, and on large touchscreen displays.

Things to Consider When Creating a Kiosk or Digital Platform

A successful platform begins with a clear understanding of its audience. Who will use it, where will they encounter it, and what should they be able to accomplish? Defining these needs early helps shape everything from content and navigation to technology and accessibility.

Consider what information the platform will contain and how people will explore it. Categories, search tools, filters, stories, photographs, videos, and documents should work together without becoming overwhelming. A thoughtful content structure makes the experience easier to use today and easier to expand tomorrow.

A touchscreen kiosk in a museum has different requirements from a sales app, a public website, or an administrative platform. Screen size, lighting, sound, connectivity, privacy, durability, and visitor traffic can all influence the experience. Designing for the real environment helps the technology feel natural and dependable.

Clear navigation, readable type, accessible content, intuitive controls, and simple instructions help more people use the platform successfully. Testing with real users can reveal questions and obstacles that are difficult to anticipate during development.

The best platforms are built to evolve. Think about who will add content, how information will be updated, what training will be needed, and how the platform might expand over time. A manageable system protects your investment and allows the project to keep growing with your organization.

Your idea may begin with a single screen, story, or challenge. Together, we can turn it into an experience people can explore, understand, and remember.
